World's richest couple give half fortune to the poor!

World's richest couple give half fortune to the poor!

The world’s richest couple, Bill and Melinda Gates, give half their £34 billion fortune to help the poor
THE world’s richest couple have congratulated Britons on their generosity to the world’s poor – and have said “keep on giving”.
Melinda and Bill Gates held private talks with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street this week to launch their Living Proof programme to show how global aid makes a difference.
“We should do more of it,” says Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft.
The couple set up a foundation in 1994 and are spending £21 billion to tackle global poverty.
Melinda says: “When we find a way to save millions of lives, to give hundreds of millions of families the ability to make a healthy, productive future, we should give everything we’ve got.”
She adds: “British people continue to show generosity in times of need – every year on Red Nose Day and recently in response to Haiti and the Pakistan floods.”
Aid worker Debrework Zewdie says that smart aid helps the people of developing countries to help themselves.
“One day soon we hope it will help us end the need for aid,” she said, “but today and tomorrow this approach is making it possible to save 4,000 lives daily in communities across Africa and the developing world.”

Appropriate , creative, obsessive, frustrating, organised, structured..design lives in the detail.

Motion Graphics/type design..

This sequence of video clips portraying individual letterforms are mind-blowing. My favorite piece of moving image i have seen yet, they are so detailed and interact, Letters Q and I..

BRANDING

The designs on these t-shirts for a NIKE AIR promotion are visually appealing, especially towards the younger generation, the layout , colour and composition is well thought out and works really well.

W.I.G.D?

Amidst all of the hype of modern design and computers, we have remained true by generating the majority of our designs by hand, viewing the computer as a tool and not letting it dictate our designs.-ames design

3D GRAPHICS..

KRAFTLOCKD toys By 'Boya Latumahina', kipporalux
''Out of sheer frustration about not wanting to be frustrated anymore I started a sofftoy label called KRAFTLOCKD. For my Habloc line I got inspired by the fact that people always complain, there’s always a reason to be loud, obnoxious and frustrated. My references vary from old people to exhibitionists.''

Boya Latumahina is another Graphic Designer/illustrator/photographer i am inspired by , i love her abstracted work. She often works free hand and works with her emotions and thoughts at the time ' spur of the moment' which is what i can relate to. This is Some of her other work i am fond of...

Christopher Cox
(packaging design, design for cover of journal)
I work with collage allot and this piece really captured my attention, the contrast between the floral feminine images and the retro cool images clash , but thats what makes it work visually.

Publishing/ Editorial..
hvass-and-hannibal have always inspired me, their use of graphical collage generated on the computer appeals to me and works with the simple photographic backgrounds, i love how they always seem to make graphics come alive, they try to make something un-real look realistic. They are well know for their amazing music videos and album covers, but they also work with  music videos, graphic art, silkscreening, art direction, illustration, installation and lots more.

Simple and Effective

This is a perfect example of 'simple and effective' using motion graphics, as soon as i saw this clip i was fascinated by the colours and quality of the video, it looks like ink or powder. I was attracted to this clip because i always seem to work with colour and abstraction, i am super inspired by this piece.
'let yourself feel'

Project from 'SEA' design website, OQO is a London-based Japanese fusion bar/restaurant.
The round shapes are just photographs of cocktails and drinks sold in the restaurant, but when taken from birds-eye view and placed on a crisp black background the photographs become so much more interesting and start to look nothing like the reality. This is another perfect example of 'simple but effective', it is visually appealing to look at and suits the restaurant/bar's atmosphere well.

Boutique London
Art Direction and Brand Identity for an independent fashion event, this event's audience is the  young fashion consumers of the time.
I think the colors and shape work really well together as it attracts its supposed audience as it is modern, young and easy on the eye.
I really like the simplicity of the shape B with the bold font inside, i think the white negative space looks really effective as it stands out on the block colour.
